Such a hidden gem! Especially as a foreigner, it’s hard to find places that have decent food. It’s affordable, and has a great atmosphere. Quick walk from Horyuji Temple too!

Great café with delicious food, an absolute hidden gem! The staff was very friendly, and they accept credit card which is always a delight. No English menu however, so it was a bit hard to understand what to order as a foreigner, we had to use a translator app.

A stone throw away from Horyuji Temple and you would be automatically drawn to the soft jazz melody playing at the entrance. The cafe provided a nice place to savour the rustic feel of Horyuji and the thousand years history around the UNESCO site. The wheat gluten (麩) seems to be famous in Ikaruga town and it was used to make many dishes in the lunch set. The karaage chicken was nicely fried and savoury. All these combo made the lunch set superb and satisfying. There’s also another version with tartar sauce if you prefer. The establishment accepted major credit cards.
